Shirley Elizabeth (Foreman) Goheen, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Reading Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Birdsboro on February 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Shirley (Wells) Foreman. She was the widow of Milton W. Goheen who passed away in November of 1988.
A 1953 graduate of Birdsboro High School, Shirley was employed at the Credit Bureau of Reading and later by Ocello in Birdsboro from which she retired in 1994. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Birdsboro.
Shirley enjoyed tending her flower beds, watching the Phillies, but her greatest joy was all the times spent with her family especially her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Shirley is survived by her daughter Sherri L. (Goheen) Pieja, wife of Craig E. Pieja of Fleetwood, PA, grandchildren Melissa Krawchyk (Logan Krawchyk) of Zelienople, PA and Jeremy Pieja (Alessia Scillia) of Arlington, VA, and great grandson, Declan. She was predeceased by her brother William Foreman, and two sisters, Lenora Petitjean, and Florence Sowers.
A viewing with family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Dengler Funeral Home, 144 N. Spruce St., Birdsboro, PA followed by a graveside service at Birdsboro Cemetery at 11:30 am.
