Brenda Lou (McCord) DelGrosse, 84, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. She was the youngest of the Birdsboro McCord girls. Brenda joined her sisters Nancy Iezzi & Gloria Lutz in their heavenly home and was reunited with her beloved husband, Lew, who passed away on October 10, 2022.
Brenda was born in Birdsboro on September 7, 1939 to Willis & Carmen (Killian) McCord and grew up on West Second Street. Brenda graduated from Daniel Boone High School, Class of 1957. Upon Graduation, she worked at Conestoga Telephone Co., where she remained for 44 years until her retirement in 2001.
Brenda and Lew were high school sweethearts and married on October 3, 1964 and were married 58 years. Their daughter, Amy, was born on March 10, 1969; their greatest joy was being parents.
Brenda is survived by Amy (DelGrosse) Williamson & her husband Peter and many nieces & nephews & their families.
Brenda enjoyed family-time, trips to Stone Harbor, knitting and was known for her handmade, personalized Christmas stockings and always sending friends & family birthday cards. She followed Villanova Basketball, the 76ers & the Phillies. Brenda remained close to her high school girlfriends at Card Club & later lunches out.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 5 Brooke Manor, Birdsboro, PA 19508, with the Memorial Service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church at the above address.
