Lloyd Charles Day passed Thursday, August 24, 2023 in Birdsboro, PA. Lloyd was born March 12, 1936, aged 87. Son of Judson Solon Day and Clara Swager Day. Predeceased by wife Betty Dunkle and older brother Judson S. Day, Jr. (Darla); Leaves brothers, Frederick Adna Day (Eleanor) Robert Warren Day (Rae Ellen).
Graduated from Youngstown South High, 1954.
Inducted into the army, served 2 years at Ft. Hood, Texas. Upon honorable discharge, he worked in the sign shop at Isaly Dairy until its closing, then as service manager for R & R Mack in Akron, Ohio. He instructed classes in Diesel Mechanics at New Castle School of Trades and TDDS in Lake Milton, Ohio.
Lloyd was a master mechanic who could fix anything and build anything. He loved teaching and passing on his knowledge to his students. His knowledge and patience produced many skilled craftsmen in the field.
After moving to Birdsboro, PA he was employed as a mechanical structural technician at Dana Testing Lab, Reading, PA. Lloyd retired from Weaver Machine Company in East Earl, PA in January 2023.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Dengler Funeral Home, 144 N. Spruce Street, Birdsboro, PA, with the funeral service to begin at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Beverly K. Wenrich officiating.
Interment will be in Everett Cemetery, Everett, PA.
In lieu of flowers the family requests monetary donations to St. James Lutheran Church, PO Box 5 Geigertown, PA 19523.
