George “Bob” R. Mumau, 85, of Douglassville, Amity Twp., PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 surrounded by his family. Born in Latrobe, PA, he was the son of the late George T. and the late Helen J. (Liebel) Mumau. He was the loving husband of Claudia J. (Szancilo) Mumau.
Bob was a metallurgical engineer and most recently was a Vice President at Consarc Corporation based in Rancocas, NJ. He was a member of the American Society of Materials and a member of the National Championship-winning Gymnastics team while he attended Penn State University. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, and spending time at Lake Wallenpaupack with his family and friends.
Surviving Bob, along with his wife, Claudia, are 5 sons: Sean Mumau, Chris Mumau (Diane), Tim Mumau (Kathleen), Brien Mumau (Sheryl) Robert Mumau (Jessica); 3 daughters: Lisa Copeland, Suzanne McDowell (Bob), Melanie Mumau (Scott); 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and loving canine companion, Layla.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter: Connie Mumau; and sister: Linda Swank.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 11:00AM at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church, 1188 Ben Franklin Hwy. E Douglassville, PA 19518. A visitation will be from 10:15AM-11:00AM before the service at the church. There will be a private viewing at Dengler Funeral Home for family members. The burial will be in St. Gabriel’s Church Cemetery.
