Teddy Baker Bitler, 86, of Gibraltar, Robeson Twp., PA passed away on February 9, 2022 in the comfort of his home. Born in Gibraltar, he was the son of the late Elmer S. and Anna M. (Westley) Bitler. He was the loving husband of Natalie L. (Moyer) Bitler.
Teddy worked as a Salesman for Glidden Paints for 35+ yrs. He was a member of Union Lodge #479 F. & A.M., and a member of P.O.S of A for 62+ yrs. He was involved with many organizations including the Gibraltar Playground, Birdsboro Midget Football Boosters, St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Birdsboro HS Alumni Association, graduating from Birdsboro High School in 1953. Teddy was devoted to his family, was generous, and good natured, and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed skiing and as a young man, was an undefeated amateur boxer.
Surviving Teddy, along with his wife, Natalie, is 1 son: Timothy B. Bitler, husband of Laura of Robeson Twp., PA; 1 daughter: Beth A. Bitler of Lebanon, PA; 4 grandchildren: Jennifer L. Andrews (Brandon), Cory A. Fetter (Amy), Lindsey E. Machak (Joseph), and Timothy B. Bitler, Jr. (fiancée Katie Nagy); and 4 great grandchildren: Joie Brant, Cameron Fetter, Cooper Andrews, and Teddy Andrews (his namesake) and also, several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister: Betty A. Seidel.
A viewing will be held on Monday evening, February 14, 2022 at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the funeral home at 11:00am. A viewing will be held prior to the service on Tuesday, from 10:00am-11:00am. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Gibraltar, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
