Ruth B. (Evans) Merkel Oswald, 92 formerly of Douglassville, PA passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021, peacefully in her residence at Phoebe Berks, in Wernersville, PA. Born in Pottstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward D. and the late Florence (Alderfer) Evans. She was the widow of her first husband, Robert C. Merkel and her second husband, Irvin I. Oswald.
Ruth worked as a sewing machine operator for many years, with various companies. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star #460 Bird Chapter, charter member of The Valley of Reading AASR, and a member of St. Paul’s UCC, Amityville.
Surviving Ruth are: sister: Sarah J. Wood; and 2 step-sons: William and Barry Oswald. She was predceased by her step son Jody Oswald.
