Ralph Bruce Murray

Ralph Bruce Murray, 92 of Mt. Penn, PA passed away on February 18, 2021, at Berks Heim.

Born in Birdsboro, PA He was the son the late Ralph Ivan Murray and Sarah Christie (Steinmetz) Murray.  He was the loving husband of Mary Jane (Bailey) Murray for 39 years until she passed away on March 19, 2006.

Ralph was a1946 graduate of the former Birdsboro High School.  He attended Muhlenberg College and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Grove City College in 1950.  He was employed as a mechanical engineer for the former Birdsboro Steel Corp for 30 years and retired in 1992 from Reading Crane.

He was a member of St Mark’s Lutheran Church and a past member of the Birdsboro Independent Order of the Odd Fellows.  Ralph was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing golf, bowling and tennis.  Among his many interests were photography, music and baking the best Christmas cookies.   Ralph was always pleasant and a gentleman and will be missed.

He is survived by nephews Alan Kershner husband of JoAnn of Mohnton, PA, Rev. Joel Kershner husband of Katherine of Greenville, SC; A. David “Pete” Baily of Wernersville, PA; companion of Peggy Harlin of Sinking Springs, PA;  niece Beverly wife of Bruce Hardy of Womelsdorf, PA and 8 great and 13 great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Jeanette (Murray) Kershner and niece Kathleen (Kershner) Kogut.

A memorial service will be held at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc, 144 N. Spruce St., Birdsboro, PA on March 6, 2021 at 10:30. A visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private in the Birdsboro Cemetery.
