Nancy Jean (Reese) Henrich

Nancy Jean (Reese) Henrich, 79 passed away at home in Wyomissing, PA on Jan. 25, 2022 in the presence of her loving family who was caring for her.

Born in Johnstown, PA on March 9, 1942, she was the daughter of the late James Edward Reese, Sr. and Phyllis Virginia (Griffith) Reese-Fuller. Her companion of 28 years, Kenneth E. Clark, proceeded her in death in 2012.

Nancy was a past member of the Swing Fever Dance Band as a vocalist for 19 years 1983-2002 where she travelled to England, France and the Caribbean on tour. She was involved in the Girl Scouts for 30 years as a scout troop leader, organizer and consultant.  Nancy and her therapy dog Cuddles, enjoyed visiting nursing homes, hospitals and the Spring Twp. Library.

Nancy loved to entertain.  She hosted formal tea parties and loved playing cards with family and friends, especially rummy.  She continued to stay active and was often out on the town having luncheons with friends or attending her weekly senior group.

Nancy loved listening to music, especially Big Band, solo piano and Celtic Thunder.  In her middle years, she played guitar and piano.

Nancy was the consummate homemaker and loved baking, sewing and knitting.  She continued knitting prayer shawls as a member of the knitting group at her church, Sacred Heart Church, West Reading, PA.  She completely renovated her home in Birdsboro, lovingly restoring it with Victorian details.

She had been employed at EnerSys- in Quality Dept. as Executive Secretary, from 1998-2007,           Meridian Bancorp- Reading-Trainer in Human Resource Dept. from 1986- 1996,           Exeter School District Library aide from 1976-1986.

She was a graduate of Mt. Penn High School-Class of 1960.

She is survived by her son, Edward Allen Henrich, husband of Natalie Henrich of Oakland, CA, daughter, Patricia A. Henrich McVey- Philadelphia, PA, brother, James Edward Reese, Jr. (husband of Catherine Reese) of Jacksonville, FL, sisters, Patricia L. Beane (widow of Robert Beane) of Reiffton PA, Wanda J. Bausher (wife of John Bausher) – Reiffton PA, 3 grandchildren all of Oakland, CA –Emily Mei-Ying Henrich, Cole Edward Henrich, Lucy Mei-Lian Henrich, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by stepbrother Raymond Fuller and ex-husband Francis J. Henrich.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing to be held Feb.4, 2022 from 11 to 12 at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc, 144 N. Spruce St., Birdsboro, PA with the funeral service to follow at Noon.  Burial will be in Birdsboro Cemetery after the service.
