Marie Rose (Morgan) Schaeffer, 100, of Lancaster, PA passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Lancaster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Bertrum and Mary (Zelenski) Morgan. She was the widow of her 1st husband: John S. Ferenz and 2nd husband: Daniel W. Schaeffer.
Marie worked most of her life, finally retiring at the age of 84. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Bird Chapter #460, where she was a Worthy Matron twice and she was a member of St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Douglassville. Marie loved to read, ceramics, knitting, cooking, and baking.
Surviving Marie are her 4 grandchildren: John, III (Stephanie), Debra (Troy), Justin (Vonnie), Eran (Christopher); and 4 great grandchildren: Shaye (Noah), Trystin, Prestin, and Lillian.
She was predeceased by her son: John S. Ferenz, Jr., step-son: Thomas Schaeffer; 4 brothers; and 1 sister.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
