Gloria “Sis” Lutz entered her heavenly home June 25, 2021 at the age of 90. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Robert “Bobby” Lutz, to whom she was married for 46 years before his passing in 1999.
Sis was the middle daughter of the McCord sisters, Nancy and Brenda from West Second Street in Birdsboro. She was predeceased by her parents, Willis and Carmen (Killian) McCord.
Although mostly known as Sis, Gloria means “honor,” and we honor her as the wonderful woman she was. Sis was a loving and devoted wife, mother to Pam and Page, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her friends and neighbors would wholeheartedly agree that “she was the best.”
Sis graduated from Birdsboro High School in 1949 and her various jobs outside the home include working at Conestoga Telephone and at the Roosevelt elementary school cafeteria.
Sis enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Vacations to Stone Harbor were always the highlight of every summer. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, ceramics, gardening and cheering on her grandchildren’s endeavors. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her sisters.
Sis was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Birdsboro.
Her warm and welcoming smile, hospitality, kindness and thoughtfulness were hallmarks of her pleasant personality. Those who were blessed to have known her will be forever grateful for the life lessons she taught us. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Sis is survived by daughters, Pamela Farrell (Mark) of Exeter and Page Lutz (Melissa) of Lancaster. Grandchildren, Lindsay, Kelly and Matthew. Great-grandchildren, Cohen, Jeremiah, Charlie, Cassidy and a new blessing arriving in November. Sisters Nancy Iezzi and Brenda DelGrosse (Lewis) both of Birdsboro.
A visitation will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 5 Brooke Manor, Birdsboro, PA 19508 from 11:00am to 12:00 noon on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 with a funeral service at 12:00 noon.
