Gary Dale Care, 75 of Reading, Pennsylvania died on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at Penn State Health-St. Joseph in Bern Twp., Berks Co., PA.
Born January 3, 1947 in West Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Harold Care and the late Jennette (Meeser) Care. He was the husband of Margaret J. (Crosby) Care.
Gary was a member of St. Mark’s Church, he enjoyed all sports, sports collectables and traveling.
He retired from Sears in Reading, PA.
Gary was a 1964 graduate of Daniel Boone High School and remained a huge supporter of Blazer athletics throughout his life. He was inducted in the Daniel Boone Hall of Fame in 2018.
He served in the Army from 1966 until 1967. He was a Veteran of Vietnam.
Surviving along with his wife is daughter, Ashley E. wife of Justin Frantz of West Reading, PA; stepdaughter Katrina Souvigny, wife of Mark, of Phoenixville; 3 grandchildren, Augustus L. Secrest, Aaron T. Secrest and Dante Bender.
He was predeceased by his stepson Brian Bender.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 5 Brooke Manor, Birdsboro, PA with the funeral service to begin at 11:00 AM with the Rev. James T. Farnsworth officiating. Interment will be in Birdsboro Cemetery.
