G. Raymond Dengler

G. Raymond “Bunky” “Digger” Dengler, 93 of Birdsboro, PA, died on Monday, August 2, 2021 at home.

Born February 11, 1928 in Birdsboro, PA, he was the son of the late Rufus Gail Dengler and Ruth Ruppert (Lutz) Dengler.

He married his high school sweetheart Alice R. (Ehrgood) Dengler. They were together 77 years and married for 72 years.

He established the Dengler Funeral Home in 1959 and remained involved even after retiring in 2003.

Raymond was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Birdsboro, PA where he had served on various committees through the years. He was a Past Master of Union Lodge #479, member of the Rajah Shriners, Reading Consistory and past Birdsboro Rotary member.

Surviving along with his wife are son, Gail R. husband of Susanne M. Dengler of Birdsboro, PA; sister, Audrey L. widow of Charles N. Minnich of Birdsboro; grandson, Dr. Christopher Dengler of Philadelphia, PA; nephew, Craig; great nephews, Matthew, Ryan and Andrew; great niece, Johanna; great great nephew Kai, great great nieces, Audrey, Eliza and Lynley; his and his wife’s little buddy, King David “KD” the little white dog.

He was predeceased by his niece Cheryl and nephew Todd.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., 144 N. Spruce St., Birdsboro, PA on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. A Masonic service by Union Lodge #479 F & AM will be held Friday at 6:45 PM. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 5 Brooke Manor, Birdsboro, PA. Burial will be private in Birdsboro Cemetery.
