Carol Sue Michels
Carol Sue (Bucher) Michels passed away in the early hours of December 17, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on January 17,1940 in South Bend, Indiana to James Joseph and Loraine Elizabeth (Yates) Bucher. On December 14, 1957, Carol married Jacob J. Michels, who preceded her in death 2003.
Carol was a quiet woman loved by all that were in her presence. She was a Christian and cherished her family, having been married for 46 years. Her love of children was evident during her time as a Sunday School teacher, when taking care of her nieces and nephew, watching great grandchildren, being a den mother for son’s Boy Scout troupe, and in her willingness to watch friends and neighbors’ children. Carol enjoyed crocheting, completing word searches, playing board games, painting, doing crafts, watching musicals, and window shopping with daughter Jacquelyn. Her family and friends will cherish the memory of baking Christmas cookies with her as children and continuing the tradition through her lifetime.
She is preceded in death by her parents James and Loraine; step-father Meridith Petty; and sisters Shirley Snyder, Sharon Dimmitt, and Sandra Chapman.
Left to celebrate her memory are her brother, Thomas Bucher of South Bend Indiana; two sons, Jeffrey A. Michels and Michael D. Michels; two daughters, Tamara J. (Michels) Darrah and Jacquelyn S. (Michels) Hammock; grandchildren Amanda, Maria, Brian, Robert, Dylan, Alex and Tory; and great-grandchildren Aubrey, Katelyn, William and Tate.
Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home in Columbus, Ohio, and Dengler Funeral Home in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania.
Family will receive guests on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 12pm-1pm at Dengler Funeral Home, 144 North Spruce Street, Birdsboro, PA 19508. Services will conclude at Birdsboro Cemetery.
A fantastic celebration of life will be planned for the spring in Indiana.
