Alma E. (Schulze) Shirey, 83, formerly of Amityville, Berks Co., PA passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021, at Manatawny Manor in Pottstown, E. Coventry Twp., PA. Born in Amityville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Albert V. Schulze, Sr., and the late Alice H. (Rhoads) Schulze. She was the widow of George D. Shirey.
Alma worked as a Clerk for the former Mary Merritt’s Doll Museum. She was a member of Amity CB Radio Club and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Douglassville, PA.
Surviving Alma are daughter: Debra S. McCoy, widow of John of Exeter Twp., PA; son: David A. Shirey, husband of Linda M. of Oley, PA; 1 grandchild: Sean; and 2 great grandchildren: John and William.
She was predeceased by a brother: Albert V. Schulze, Jr. and a foster brother: Franklin Stufflet.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 11:00am at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00am-11:00am before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Amityville, PA.
