Virginia Marks, 93, passed away peacefully at Elmcroft Senior living on New Year’s Eve, surrounded by loving family.
Born February 12, 1925 in Birdsboro. Virginia spent most of her life there until moving to the Heritage at Green Hills in 2014 and later to Elmcroft Senior Living in 2017. She was the daughter of Pasquale and Carmella (Marini) Bucci.
Virginia was the widow of Lewis M. Marks, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage from 1949 until 2000. Together they owned and operated Lewis M. Marks Appliances in Birdsboro until their retirement in 1985. She was a 1943 graduate of Birdsboro High School and a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception R.C.C.
Always very civic-minded, Virginia was a member of both the Birdsboro Junior Women’s Club and Women’s Club, serving terms as president of both organizations. She was also a member and one-time president of the Immaculate Conception Christian Women’s Society. Virginia, along with her sister Madelyn, initiated and chaired the very successful Immaculate Conception Strawberry Festival for many years.
Virginia is survived by her daughters Eloise Roecker, Elverson; Lisa, wife of Thomas Moos, Windsor, CO; grandchildren Elise Roecker, wife of Michael Spector, Brooklyn, NY; Gordon Roecker, Brooklyn, NY; Anna (Moos) Moore, wife of Josh Moore, Fort Collins; Ethan Moos of San Antonio, TX and Daniel Moos of Windsor, CO. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Luke Spector and Joely Spector. She was predeceased by sisters Sandine (Madeira) Pendi, Mary (Bucci) Murray, Frances (Bucci) Schatz and Madelyn (Bucci) Bucci and brothers James Bucci and Nicholas Bucci.
Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church, 905 Chestnut St., Douglassville, PA 19518.
