Mary “Betty” Oxenford (Moyer), 90 is walking with our loving Lord. She passed peacefully at home on September 9, 2023. She was the daughter of Ralph and Kathryn (Angstadt) Moyer. She lived most of her life in Monocacy Station with her loving husband Alfred “Freddie” Oxenford who passed in 2018.
She was a graduate of the Royersford H.S. class of 1950. Betty worked for many businesses, but her heart was at home. Betty attended her children’s sporting and special events. She was the caretaker for her mother, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and neighborhood kids. She was active in DBHS sports boosters, a leader in women’s guilds in both St. Paul’s UCC Birdsboro and St. Paul’s CCCC Stowe. She is a member of the St. John’s UCC Gibraltar family. Her home was a family gathering place for Saturday pizza, Tuesday coffee and most holiday meals. Cooking, baking, canning, freezing, sewing and crafts were always in the works.
Betty is survived by son Dean Yanocha, husband of Jill, Idaho, daughter Kim Stroman wife of Steve Birdsboro with whom she resided. Stepdaughter Jill Brok, FL, sister Jerry Longaker, NC, brother R. Dennis Moyer, Carnegie, PA, grandchildren Amy & Kyle Stroman and Linsey Oxenford, step grandchildren Connor and Erica Brok, great-grandchildren Collin, Ryder and Raegan.
In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her son Robin Oxenford, sister Doris Fletcher, brother Robert Moyer and stepdaughter Holly Oxenford.
Services will be held at St. John’s UCC 57 St. John’s Rd. Birdsboro, PA on Monday, September 18, 2023. Visitation will take place from 11am until 12noon and services will be at noon.
