Lucy E. (Maccarone) Doney, 91 of Exeter Twp., Berks Co., PA passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021, in the comfort of her home. Born in Birdsboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Maimone) Maccarone. She was the widow of Leon C. Doney.Lucy worked for the former Wittich’s Music that later became Eckert Bros. Music. She was a member of Immaculate Conception BVM RC Church in Douglassville, PA where she was a vocalist in the choir and an active participant in the Prime Time Club.
Lucy was a homemaker and mother for most of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, always supporting them in their life and activities. She loved angels and related items and had an extensive collection of figurines.
An Italian Sunday dinner with the extended family was her favorite meal.
She enjoyed attending concerts, dances and shows. She was a season ticket holder for the Reading Symphony and was always singing and listening to music. She had a song for everything.
Surviving Lucy are: 1 son: David P. Doney, husband of Donna of Reading, PA; 1 daughter: Lisa A. Pisarek, wife of Anthony of Birdsboro, PA; 1 sister: Elizabeth Maccarone of Exeter Twp., PA; 5 grandchildren: Sarah, Christopher, Timothy, Jackson, and Brent; and 4 great grandchildren: Caysia, Naomi Lucia, Belle, and Dutch Leon.
She was predeceased by her sister: Margaret L. Maccarone.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021at 11:00am at Immaculate Conception BVM RC Church, 905 Chestnut St. Douglassville, PA 19508. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10:00am – 11:00am at the church, prior to mass. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception RC Church Cemetery.
