John Dickinson “Pappy” Marquet, PFC U.S., 1st Army, was born February 12, 1923 and was called home to be with the Lord, on October 26, 2018, at the age of 95.
He was the widower of E. Jeannette (Harris) Marquet, his beloved wife of 61 years.
Born in Birdsboro, he was the son of the late John H. Marquet and the late Maude (Dickinson) Marquet.
He was predeceased in death by his sister, Elizabeth (Marquet) Jamison.
Pappy, was a 1941 graduate of Birdsboro High School. He served in World War II from 1942 – 1945 during the Invasion of Normandy.
He returned home and graduated from Albright College. He was employed at Birdsboro Corporation, as a sales engineer until his retirement. He continued to consult for PR Engineering, Ontario, Canada.
Pappy, was a longtime member of the Birdsboro Legion, Birdsboro Sportsman’s Club, Disabled American Veterans, Reading Berks Basketball Asso., and the National WW II Museum.
He was a former Birdsboro Councilman and Birdsboro Lions Club Member.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn, wife of William Sandt, West Lawn, and Jeanne, wife of Robert T. Millard, Ephrata.
He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Hannah (Millard) Tunis, Lancaster, wife of Andrew Tunis and Robert S. Millard, Birdsboro, husband of Melissa (Moore) Millard.
He has four great-grandchildren, Miranda, Nathan, Nash and Marlow.

Memorial Services will be held at Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., 144 North Spruce Street, Birdsboro, PA on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM. A Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
