Gloria B. Swoyer, age 89, of Pine Swamp, Elverson passed away Sunday afternoon with loving family at Neighborhood Health Hospice Center. She was the widow of George Swoyer Sr., who served in the US Navy on the US Brooklyn in Italy during WWll. Gloria was born at home on a farm in Tredyffrin Twp., Chester Co., PA. She was the daughter of the late Matthew and Ida (Sewell) Bramble.
She graduated from Warwick High School. She sewed Boy Scout Uniforms and worked at Mrs. Smith’s Pies in Pottstown and Morgantown. Gloria was a positive person and enjoyed going to church at Ebenezer Bible Chapel and Pine Swamp Church. She enjoyed antiques, music, walks, and all pets. Gloria loved traveling to New Jersey and North Carolina and to visit all family and friends/neighbors. All who know her well are aware her favorite greeting was, “Happy Day!”
Gloria is survived by her son, George (Colette) and her brother, Donald Bramble (Helen). She was Mom Mom to her grandchildren, Mandy (Jonathan), George Brent (Christina), and great grandchildren, Layla, George Keenan, and Trenton.
Gloria was predeceased by her brothers, Jim (Min), Henry (Kate) Edward (Emma), Charles, and Howard, as well as her sisters Margaret and Miriam.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., 144 N. Spruce St., Birdsboro, PA 19508 at 10:30AM. A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:30AM-10:30AM at the funeral home. The interment will follow at Pine Swamp Cemetery in Elverson.
