Gerald L. Wright, 81, of Birdsboro, PA passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at the Reading Hospital. Born in Stowe, PA, he was the son of the late George E. and Myrtle M. (Garber) Wright. He was the loving husband of Barbara J. (Focht) Wright.
Gerald worked in the Groundskeeping Dept. for the Valley Forge Army Hospital and Pennhurst. He later worked in maintenance for Wernersville State Hospital. He served in the U.S. Army, and often reminisced about his time based in Germany. He enjoyed woodworking, watching Western Movies, and was a Cub Scout leader for many years.
Gerald and Barbara enjoyed 21yrs at their Cape May home away from home where he would ride his bike, go to concerts, ride the tram car on the Wildwood boardwalk or go to beach. You could usually find him outside helping and socializing with neighbors and active with the St Marks senior group and was always ready for a card or board game, picnic, or family gathering.
Surviving Gerald, along with his wife Barbara are son: Christopher Wright; 2 daughters: Amy Beth Gulla, wife of Michael, Elizabeth Drabinsky, wife of Robert; brother: Edward Wright; sister: Nancy Foster; and 1 grandchild: Aaron Gulla.
He is predeceased by brother: Robert Wright and sister: Ethel Strock.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 11:00AM at Immaculate Conception BVMRC Church, 905 Chestnut St. Douglassville, PA 19518. A viewing will be from 9:00AM-11:00AM prior to Mass at the church on Monday. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Reiffton, PA.
