Carl E. Snyder, Sr., 95, of Reading, Exeter Twp., PA passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Coal Twp., Shamokin, PA, he was the son of the late Abel D. and Mary Jane (Rumberger) Faust. He was the widower of Patricia P. (Patrick) Snyder and former husband of the late Marie (Brozoski) Snyder.
Carl worked as a Crane Operator for the former Birdsboro Corp. in Birdsboro, PA, and was a custodian in the Daniel Boone School District for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during Peacetime. He was an avid Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles football fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Carl was a member of the Birdsboro Sportsmen’s Club, Birdsboro VFW Post 411, American Legion Post 626, and a life member of the Gibraltar Fire Co. and Neversink Gun Club.
Carl is survived by his 3 sons: David J. Snyder, husband of Cheryl of Oklahoma City, OK, Douglas A. Snyder, husband of Angela of Birdsboro, PA, and Carl E. Snyder, Jr., husband of Margrit of Leesburg, VA; sister: Dorothy Kuczmek of Layton, UT; half-brother: Wilbur Faust of Shamokin, PA; daughter-in-law: Louise Snyder of Brandamore, PA; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son: Daniel C. Snyder; step-father: Homer Faust; and 6 siblings.
A funeral service will be held at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508 on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 11:00AM. A viewing will be held from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Burial will be in Birdsboro Cemetery.
