David Schaeffer Yergey of Amity Township, age 95, passed away peacefully December 30th at the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Joyce Wunderlich Yergey, they celebrated 65 years of marriage in June. He was the son of the late Harry and Bessie (Schaeffer) Yergey.
He was a navy veteran in WWII on the Battleship U.S.S. North Carolina and the Korean War.
He was an employee of Firestone Tire & Rubber Co and Occidental Co, retiring in 1988.
David is survived by 2 daughters Jodi Adamczyk, Reading and Carol Sue Labe, wife of Garry Labe, Douglassville, one stepbrother Frank Wunderlich, husband of Marion Wunderlich and one half-sister Anna Mae Dilliplaine, wife of Eugene, Cheyenne WY.
He is predeceased by brother Clarence Yergey, step brothers Garson Wunderlich, husband of Joyce, and David Wunderlich, husband of Betty.
The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care that was given by the staff of Reading Hospital.
Services will be private as requested by the deceased.
