Russell H. Bechtel, Jr., 75 of Mohnton, Robeson Twp., PA passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at home. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Russell H. and Marian G. (Brown) Bechtel. He was the widower of Kathleen (Swartley) Bechtel. Russell was the companion of Jeannette High of Robeson Twp., PA for 8 years.
Russell worked and retired after 30 years as a machine operator for Dana Corp. in Pottstown, PA. He enjoyed drag racing and hunting.
Surviving Russell are: son: Russell H. Bechtel, III of Robeson Twp., PA; daughter: Erin V. Thimm, wife of Paul Jr. of Robeson Twp., PA; brother: Dennis Hartenstine of Birdsboro, PA; 2 sisters: Joni Johnson of Ft. Myers, FL, Jean Cambria of Flying Hills, PA; 5 grandchildren: Kaitlin, Adaline, Lillian, Cylas, and Brystan.
He is predeceased by a sister: Joyce Sweigert.
A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, September 15, 2022 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508. A graveside service will be on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 11:30am at Schwarzwald Cemetery, 75 Church Lane Reading, PA 19606.
