Ross Munro McEwen, Sr., 83 of Mohrsville, Pennsylvania died on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at home.
Born June 29, 1941 in Elverson, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Paul Austin McEwen and the late Edna Elizabeth (Fisher) McEwen. He was the husband of Maryann (Hensel) McEwen.
He was employed for 40 years by D&E Communications and the former Conestoga Telephone & Telegraph.
Ross was a member of the Birdsboro Lions Club, Union Lodge #479 F & AM, Morgantown Fire Company, Past President of the Daniel Boone Sports Boosters. He also Led the effort to build the Daniel Boone High School Football Stadium in the 1980’s, he served on the Caernarvon Township Supervisor & Caernarvon Township Planning Commission and volunteered with the Morgantown Fire Police.
Ross enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time with family. He enjoyed attending and supporting all of the grandchildren’s activities.
Surviving along with his wife are sons, Ross M. Jr., husband of Lori McEwen of Mohrsville, PA and Randy husband of Sandy McEwen of Mohrsville, PA, brother, Paul husband of Toni McEwen of Elverson, PA; 5 grandchildren, Jason McEwen, Lauren wife of Andy Ulrich, Kortney McEwen fiancée of Lenny Watson, Ryan husband of Lauren McEwen, Marissa wife of Chris Sunnekalb; 4 great grandchildren, Amelia McEwen, Rowen McEwen, Theodore Sunnekalb, and Nikolas Sunnekalb.
He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley McEwen.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Dengler Funeral Home, 144 N. Spruce Street, Birdsboro, Pennsylvania with the funeral service to follow.
Interment will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Geigertown, PA.
