John “Jack” C. Owens, 77, of Birdsboro PA passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Penn State Health St. Joseph. Born in Reading, PA he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Mary M. (Daley) Owens. He was the loving husband of Francine A. (Wichlacz) Owens.
Jack worked for Gilbert Associates for 26 years, Boscov’s, Comcast, and most recently, Penske. He was a member of Victor Emmanuel II, the Birdsboro Sportsmen’s Club, and Immaculate Conception BVM RC Church. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf and watching all sports, especially football, basketball, and baseball. Jack was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Cincinnati Reds. He enjoyed family vacations to Myrtle Beach and recent trips to South Bend. Jack was a friend of everybody and would enjoy friendly banter when out and about. His contagious smile, quick-witted humor, and funny one-liners were appreciated by all.
Surviving Jack, along with his wife of 56 years, Francine, are 4 sons: Christopher Owens, husband of Angela of Douglassville, PA, Eric Owens, husband of Maren of Douglassville, PA, Michael Owens, husband of Jacquline of Coopersburg, PA, and David Owens, husband of Melissa of Exeter Twp., PA; 2 daughters: Kelly Jones of Mt. Penn, PA and Jaclyn Owens of Philadelphia, PA; 1 brother: Joseph W. Owens of Muhlenberg Twp., PA, and 12 grandchildren who he was especially proud of.
Jack was predeceased by a brother: Thomas P. Owens.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
