James J. Hartman, 89, of Elverson, Caenarvon Twp., PA, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, PA. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Laura S. (Fick) Hartman. He was the widower of B. Gladys (Shirey) Hartman.
James served our country in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. He worked and retired from the former Firestone Tire & Rubber and Occidental Chemical in Pottstown, PA. He was a member of Col. Jacob Morgan Legion Post 537. In his free time, he always enjoyed hunting.
Surviving James are: 2 sons: James C. Hartman, companion of Robin Kost-O’Neil of Birdsboro, PA, John A. Hartman, husband of Michelle of Schwenksville, PA; daughter: Alice G. Fabian, wife of Ron of Clermont, FL; 2 sisters: Elsie Lykens of Birdsboro, PA and Doris Hontz of NC; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sister: Ruth “Becky” Piekarz and 2 brothers: Robert and David Hartman.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508. Burial will be following the viewing at Elverson United Methodist Cemetery at 11:30 AM.
