Shirley L. (Killian) Delp, 85 of Birdsboro, Exeter Twp., Berks Co., PA, died on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Exeter Greens Care and Rehab. Center. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Larry O. and Elsie (Zeiber) Killian. She was the wife of Richard D. Delp.
Shirley worked in the Cough Drop Dept. of the former Luden’s Candy in Reading, PA for 15 years and later worked in the cafeteria for the Exeter Twp. School District for 5 years.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Birdsboro. Shirley was also a member of the Mothers & Others group at St. Mark’s. She was a graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1950.
Surviving, along with her husband, Richard, are 1 son: Richard D. Delp, Jr., husband of Margaret of Exeter Twp., PA; and 1 daughter: Deborah L., wife of Michael Spanier of Lakeland, FL. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by 2 sisters: Joan L. Wanner and Linda Greismer.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 5 Brooke Manor, Birdsboro, PA 19508. A viewing will be held an hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton, PA.
