Ruth A. “Nan” (Drey) Bryan

Ruth A. “Nan” (Drey) Bryan, 88 passed away January 28th 2019, in her home surrounded by loving family. Ruth was the daughter of the late John M. and Marguerite M. (Angstadt) Drey. She was the widow of the late Harry “Biff” Bryan who passed away February 19, 2009.

She attended Amity High School. Ruth was employed by Gudebrod Silk Mill retiring in 1993.

She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Douglassville and she also taught Sunday School in Monocacy. Baseball was her life and she loved the Philadelphia Phillies. Ruth loved watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play sports. She was an avid supporter of Daniel Boone Athletics. Ruth also loved going out to eat with family, playing bingo, putting puzzles together, card games, and going to the casino. She really looked forward to the yearly family trip to Ocean City, MD. Ruth was a member of the Monarch Fire Company and the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed helping family cut and grind meat for local events.

Ruth is survived by her four children: Diane M., wife of G. Frank Arters III, Exeter Township, PA, Donald A., husband of Teri Bryan, Birdsboro, PA, David H., husband of Peggy Bryan, Baumstown, PA, and Danny S. Bryan, Douglassville, PA; 13 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Three brothers: Harry R. Drey, Boyertown, PA, Ralph F. Drey, Ohio, and Charles W. Drey, Douglassville, PA; and one sister-in-law, Mabel Labelle, also survive her.
The family would like to thank Tri County Hospice, Jen, Stacey, and Deb for all their support and services.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019, at 11 a.m. in Dengler Funeral Home Inc., 144 N. Spruce Street, Birdsboro, PA. A viewing will be held two hours prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery Amityville. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the One Wish Foundation, 85 Kim Winona Court, Fleetwood, PA 19522 or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 548 Old Swede Road, Douglassville, PA 19518. Dengler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
