Richard D. Delp, 87 of Birdsboro, Exeter Twp., PA, died on Saturday, April 21 , 2018, at Exeter Greens Care and Rehab. Center. Born in Birdsboro, PA, he was the son of the late Warren W. Delp, Sr. and the late Margaret E. (Bryan). He was the widower of Shirley L. (Killian) Delp who passed on 3/22/2018.
Richard worked in the Line Dept. for Met-Ed in Reading, PA for 40 years and retired in 1992.
He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Birdsboro. Richard was a graduate of Birdsboro HS, Class of 1949 and was also a member of the Birdsboro HS Alumni. He enjoyed helping with the food bank in Reading, PA with member of his church for many years.
Surviving, Richard are 1 son: Richard D. Delp, Jr., husband of Margaret of Exeter Twp., PA; and 1 daughter: Deborah L., wife of Michael Spanier of Lakeland, FL; and 1 sister: Margaret Rubendall of Audobon, PA. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by 1 brother: Warren W. Delp, Jr. and 1 sister: Dorothy Hoffman.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508. A viewing will be held an hour before the service at the funeral on Thursday.
Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton, PA.
