Raymond E. “Giz” Emery, 73, of Birdsboro, PA died on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at the Reading Hospital & Medical Center. Born on November 4, 1943 in Robeson Twp. Berks Co., PA, he was the son of the late J. Winfield Emery and the late Hazel M. (Haslett) Newhart. He was the loving husband of Maryanne (Rapposelli) Emery.
Raymond worked as a Chemist Assistant for the former Crompton & Knowles, in Robeson Twp. He was a member of the Birdsboro Sportsmen’s Club; he enjoyed playing golf, watching boxing and horse racing, and riding his bike. He loved his dog Bentley, and was a very kind hearted man.
Raymond is survived, along with his wife, by: 1 son: Vince T. Wertman, husband of Kristen of Sinking Spring, PA; 2 daughters: Darlene L. Emery of Birdsboro, PA, Michelle L. Emery and companion Larry Fisher of Birdsboro, PA. Raymond is also survived by 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He was predeceased by 2 sisters; Joy Alderfer and Judith Ensinger.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2017. A Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM before the service.
