Mary Jane (Hadley) “Mom Mom” Doaty, 94, of Exeter Twp., Berks Co., PA passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at the Reading Hospital & Med. Center.
Born April 16, 1923 in Baumstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (Lott) Hadley. She was the widow of Russell M. Doaty who passed away on 1/31/2001
Mary Jane was employed as a cook at the Exeter Twp. Jr. High School, retiring in 1979. She loved her family, the Phillies, attending church activities, the Birdsboro Senior Group, lunch at Effie’s and traveling to Florida and Ocean Grove, NJ. She also loved cooking and making AP cakes and giving them to people she liked. Mary Jane was a member of St. Paul’s UCC Birdsboro, and served in the choir and consistory and was a graduate of Birdsboro High School.
Surviving are: daughter: Brenda M. Diamond, wife of Charles I. of Exeter Twp., PA; 6 grandchildren: Daniel, husband of Katie Munn, Colleen, wife of Robert Bossler, Lindsay Diamond, Elisabeth, wife of Todd Papich, Brett, husband of Jamie Diamond, and Jennifer, wife of Bryan Currie; and 9 great grandchildren: Hadley, Ethan, Keenan, Alex, Liam, Gavin, Julia, Jack, and Sam.
Mary Jane was predeceased by 3 brothers: Thomas, Randall, and Donald Hadley, and 1 sister: Fern Carter.
A funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s UCC, 300 W. 1st Street, Birdsboro, PA on, Friday, February 9, 2018 at 10:30 AM, the viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
Interment will be in Birdsboro Cemetery.
