Lila G. (Ritchie) Matthes, 83 of Morgantown, PA passed away on November 18, 2018. Born in Pottstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Emory and Grace (Hart) Ritchie. She was the widow of Ernest R. Matthes.
Lila worked in the cafeteria at the Twin Valley High School, was a member of the Hay Creek Historical Assoc., and a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Geigertown, PA.
Surviving Lila are: 2 sons: Kurt E. Matthes of West Reading, PA, Kevin L. husband of Diane M. Matthes of New Ringgold PA,; 1 daughter: Kelly A. Rhoads of Exeter Twp., PA; 2 brothers: Harold Ritchie of Cohasset, MA, and Emory Ritchie of Narvon, PA. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren: Carly and Kody; 1 great grandchild: Akira; and 4 step-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:30am at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1136 Geigertown Rd. Birdsboro, PA 19508. A viewing will be held from 10:00am to 11:30am before the service at the church.
Burial will be in St. Paul’s UM Church Cemetery.
