Kenneth W. Bright, 88, of Birdsboro, Union Twp., Berks Co., PA died on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at home. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Z.W. Bright and the late Loretta (Reitnauer) Keim, he was raised by his late father Preston Keim. He was the widower of Mae (Eck) Bright who died on 11/14/13.
Kenneth was employed as a psychiatric aide at Norristown State Hospital, retiring in 1994. He served 2 years in WWII in the occupation of Japan. Later Kenneth would be a graduate of Albright College Class of 1954, attending under the G.I. Bill. He was a member of the American Legion Post 626 in Birdsboro.
Kenneth is survived by 5 daughters:, Deborah M. Pierce of Houston, TX, Linda L. Bright at home, Claudia Soellner of Schuylkill Haven, PA, and Karen Blackwell of Lehighton, PA, Wilma Vamvakis of Athens, Greece;. He is survived by 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and 4 nephews and 4 nieces.
He is predeceased by 1 daughter: Penelope Hontz.
A funeral service will be held at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc., 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508 on Thursday, September 14, 2017, 10:30 AM and a viewing will be held an hour before the service at the funeral home.
