June Virginia (Strause) Doudna , 92 of Birdsboro, PA died on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at the Pottstown Hospital. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Levi Strause and Pearl (Shoffner) Strause. She was the wife of the late Warren L. Doudna, who died April 1, 1998.
She was a graduate of Reading High School class of 1945. June was a square dancer and danced with the Star Dusters of Berks Co. and the Schuylkill Valley Promenades. She was an avid bowler, bird watcher, and loved to travel the world and was in all 50 states. June was a member of St. Paul’s UCC Amityville.
Surviving are 3 sons, Jay R. Doudna husband of Elaine of Oklahoma City, OK; Allen D. Doudna, husband of Melissa of Amity Twp., PA; and Bryan S. Doudna of Boyertown, PA; and brother, Lee V. Strause, husband of Barbara of Reading, PA. She is survived by 3 grandchildren: Bradlee S. Doudna, Nicole D. Doudna, and Brylee A. Doudna and 2 great grandchildren: Amelia L. and Freya R. Doudna.
A viewing will be held at Highland Memorial Park Chapel, 701 Farmington Ave.., Pottstown, PA on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 10:00am – 11:00am with the funeral service to follow at 11:00am.
