James E. Jacob

James E. Jacob, 69 of Douglass Twp., Berks Co., PA passed away unexpectedly on November 15, 2018. Born in Pottstown, PA, he was the son of the late Kenneth Charles and Annabelle (Molzen) Jacob.  He was the husband of Georgeen (Knopp) Jacob.

James worked as a patternmaker, for his family business, Jacob Pattern Works. He also proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a member of the NHRA, and New Hanover Lutheran Church. James enjoyed drag racing, camping, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

There were not many lives that Jim did not touch in some way.  His unending knowledge and common sense were constantly called upon by his family and friends.  It was always “Jim will know what to do or how to fix this.” Some have referred to him as a legend; others called him friend, father, poppy and husband. Our lives are forever changed with his passing, those of us left behind lost the Best of the Best.

Surviving, along with his wife, Georgeen, are 3 daughters: Kelly G. Coller, wife of Gary of Exeter Twp., PA, Jamie L. Salata of Douglassville, PA, and Stacey M. Gahagan of Chapel Hill, NC, 1 brother: Kenneth C. Jacob, Jr. of Gilbertsville, PA; 2 sisters: Judith C. Burgo of Bethany Beach, DE; and Susan Cranmer of Douglassville, PA. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Brendan, Arianna, and Brielle Coller; Jayden Salata; Gabriel, Sarah Helen, Hannah Gail, and Claire Shepherd.
