Henry A. Smith, 89, of Robeson Twp., Berks Co., PA passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Henry C. and Josephine (Hine) Smith. He was the widower of Jean E. (Hemmig) Smith who passed on 1/5/2009.
Henry was mainly employed in the HVAC business and was Dept. Manager of several Sea rs stores. He later retired as Head of the Maintenance Dept. of Berks Career & Technology Center West. He was a member of Robeson Lutheran Church, Chandler Lodge No. 227, and Rajah Shrine. He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict. Henry loved the outdoors, small game hunting, his dogs, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are 2 sons: Dale H. Smith, husband of Marie of Wyomissing, PA, David A. Smith, husband of Nancy of St. Lawrence, PA; 3 brothers: Joseph Smith of Birdsboro, PA, David Smith of Leesport, PA, Raymond Smith of Birdsboro, PA; and 1 sister: Christine Tablone of Reading, PA. He is survived by 3 grandchildren: Bryce Smith, Lauren Smith, and Sarah Barbour, wife of Keith.
He was predeceased by 1 brother: Harry Smith.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday evening, January 31, 2018 at 8:00pm at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508. A viewing will be held an hour before the service at the funeral home from 7:00pm – 8:00pm.
