Evelyn D. (Meals) Fry, 74 of Exeter Twp., Berks Co., PA passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy E. (Ache) Meals. She was the loving wife of William L. Fry for 45 years.
Evelyn graduated from Reading High School in 1961. She graduated from Community General Hospital School of Radiology in 1963. Her employment there and the Reading Rehabilitation Center lead her to continue her education in Radiation Therapy and was instrumental in the opening of the Radiation Therapy Dept. at St. Joseph’s Hospital, retiring after 25 years of service in 1992. She was a snowbird, who enjoyed spending the winters at Hideaway Camping Resort in Ruskin, FL with her friends. She was a member of the Pagoda Campers Club, Family Motor Coach; she loved to go camping, make candy, bake cookies, and shopping. Evelyn was a member of Hopewell Christian Fellowship in Elverson, PA.
Surviving, along with her husband, Bill, are: 1 daughter: Sheri L. Ringler, wife of Keith A. of Birdsboro, PA; 4 grandchildren: Cory, Ryan, Jeffrey, and Erika; and 9 great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by 2 brothers: Billy and Ralph Meals.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2017 at 1:00pm at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA 19508. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 11:00am – 1:00pm at the funeral home before the service.
