Dorothy R. Rimby

Dorothy Ruth (Weidenhammer) Rimby, of Exeter Twp., Berks Co., PA died on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Berkshire Center, Reading, PA, where she resided since 2013. Born April 28, 1917 in Esterly which is now part of St. Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Howard Lewellyn and Clara B. (Kline) Weidenhammer.  Dorothy was married on August 26, 1939 to the late Earl Taylor Rimby who died Dec. 22, 1990.

She attended Schwarzwald Lutheran Church, Jacksonwald. She was employed by Harold Yocom aka. Quality Knitting, Stowe, PA for more than 30 years.   She was a member of the Stonersville Fire Co. Ladies Axillary. Dorothy was on several Bowling Leagues Bowl-a-Rama and the Stonersville Fire Company. Her favorite meal was a seafood dish. She loved watching TV- especially the Phillies. She also was known as “ the Hallmark Card Lady’ … never missing a birthday, anniversary, or any other occasion to send a card.

Dorothy never had children … BUT she had several God-Children. She is also survived by her very gracious caregiver Debbie (Resh) Shaffer and survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 5 siblings- Chester B., Charles, Clarence, Theodore and Kathryn Weidenhammer.

A viewing will be held at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc.  on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM

Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Twp.
