Doris M. (Kurtz) Montgomery, 91, of Morgantown, Caernarvon Twp., PA passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018, at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center in Narvon, PA. Born in Beckersville, Robeson Twp., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lena (Eshelman) Kurtz. She was the widow of J. Tyson Montgomery.
Doris was employed as a sewing machine operator for Talbots in Churchtown and later in Morgantown, PA and she also worked at Farmer Brown’s Market at the seafood counter. She was a member of the Morgantown Fire Co. Ladies Aux., and a member of the former Morgantown United Methodist Church, where she was also a member of the Ladies Aux.
Surviving are: son: Thomas J. Montgomery of Elverson, PA and fiancé, Eileen Kastura of Wyomissing, PA and 1 granddaughter: Megan L. Montgomery of Batavia, OH.
She was predeceased by a brother: Harold Kurtz and a sister: Grace Bitler, and daughter-in-law: Wilma (Knight) Montgomery.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 11:00AM at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA. A viewing will be held an hour before the service from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the funeral home on Tuesday.
Interment will be held in Caernarvon Cemetery in Morgantown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Doris Montgomery, to the Twin Valley Fire Dept., PO Box 181, Elverson, PA.
