Doris Jean (Potter) Shirey, 83, of Birdsboro, PA passed away on October 10, 2017 at the Highlands at Wyomissing. She was born in Birdsboro, PA to the late Leroy J. Potter and the late Fondella M. (Wamsher) Potter. She was the widow of Lavern Charles “Nip” Shirey.
Doris worked as an Administrative Secretary for the former Occidental Chemical Corp. in Pottstown, PA. She was also a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Birdsboro, PA.
Surviving are 1 sister: Grace Weiler, wife of William Weiler; 3 nieces: Marsha Miller, Jodie Smith, and Jeri L. Lemanek; 1 nephew: Harold “Butch” Breitenstein; 3 great-nieces; Alicia, Megan, and Emma; 2 great nephews; Nathan and Casey, 1 great-great nephew; Christian.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Birdsboro Cemetery, 1018 E. Main St. Birdsboro, PA 19508.
