Clayton C. Shirey, Jr., 93, of Kulptown, Berks Co. PA passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at the Reading Hospital & Medical Center. Born in Pottstown, PA, he was the son of the late Clayton C. Shirey, Sr. and Emily (Fell) Shirey. He was the widower of June F. (Snyder) Shirey who passed in 1997
Clayton worked in maintenance for Crompton & Knowles Corp. in Gibraltar, PA. Clayton enjoyed eating breakfast every day at The Sunset Diner in Exeter Twp. and he looked forward to grocery shop at Shady Maple once a month.
Surviving Clayton are: 2 sons: Clayton P. Shirey, husband of Robin of Kulptown, PA; Michael D. Shirey of Kulptown, PA; 1 daughter: Karen S. Wenrich of Birdsboro; and 1 brother: Walter Shirey of Pottstown, PA. He is survived by 2 grandchildren: Joy Kessock and Joshua Shirey; and 2 great grandchildren: Todd and Trina.
He was predeceased by a sister: Annie M. Stohler; 1 grandchild: Jena Shirey; and great great grandchild: Parker Shirey.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Dengler Funeral Home, Inc. 144 N. Spruce St. Birdsboro, PA from 1:00pm – 2:00pm. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday at 2:00pm
Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
