Charles (Charlie) V. Sweet of Reading, PA (formerly of Gettysburg), died on Tuesday March 19, 2019, at Green Hills Manor. He was 88 years old.
He was born on August 15,1930 in Philadelphia, Pa.
He attended Cheltenham High School and graduated in 1948. He then attended Lafayette college in Easton Pa. and Newark College of Engineering in Newark N.J. and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1952. He worked for Worthington Pump, De Laval Pump and again for Worthington Pump until retiring in 1993.
He married Shirley Ann Mackie in 1954 and they had 2 children, Glen and Bonnie. Charlie played the bagpipes and clarinet and loved fiddling with his model trains. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Charlie is survived by his wife Shirley, their 2 children and their spouses, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date
